Cognex Dataman 300 Selected by Leading Warehouse Automation Company

Cognex announced that it has received purchase orders totaling more than $3 million from a U.S. based designer of logistics automation systems. The customer will integrate Cognex DataMan(R) 300 barcode readers into numerous shipping and distribution centers for a major retailer.

The DataMan 300 with Hotbars image analysis technology offers reliable reading of 1-D barcodes that lasers cannot read, including damaged, distorted, blurred, scratched, low height and low contrast codes. It also reads codes presented in any orientation, multiple codes within the same image, and 2-D codes such as Data Matrix and QR codes. With no moving parts to wear out, the DataMan 300 also offers exceptional reliability, lower maintenance and longer product life. DataMan’s real-time performance feedback also provides customers with the ability to make immediate adjustments for process improvements.

Bixolon’s New Desktop Label Printer – SLP-TX420

The Energy Star certified SLP-TX420 features a 74m printing ribbon and print speeds of up to 7ips (178mm/sec), 17% faster than comparable models found in the market. The increased speed is a key factor to increase effectiveness in the work place.

The SLP-TX420 is compatible with Mac-based PCs, Android-based tablet PCs, Windows, or LINUX. This model also supports USB dongle-typed WLAN wireless communication as well as basic wired communication. Zebra Acquires Motorola’s Enterprise Business for $3.45 Billion

2014-04-16_0925Zebra and Motorola have announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement in which Zebra will acquire Motorola’s Enterprise business for $3.45 billion in an all-cash transaction. The acquisition will be funded through a combination of cash on hand and new debt. The transaction, which was approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies, is subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.

With 2013 pro-forma sales of approximately $2.5 billion (excluding sales of its iDEN products), Motorola’s Enterprise business is an industry leader in mobile computing and advanced data capture communications technologies and services. Through this transaction, Zebra will enter the segment where Motorola’s Enterprise business competes and strengthen its position in key industries including Retail, Transportation & Logistics, and Manufacturing and serve approximately 95 percent of the Fortune 500.

Motorola has been honored with the Red Dot Product Design Award 2014 for the TC55 touch computer. International experts evaluated 4,815 entries from 53 countries and selected the top designs that represent quality and innovative strength. The New Enhanced QuickScan QW2100 Linear Imager

The QuickScan Lite QW2100 linear imager has been very well received by the market since it was first introduced in early 2012 with features such as a wide scanning angle, a long and high visible scanning line, snappy performance and the benefits of Datalogic’s ‘Green Spot’ technology.
