qd2131Datalogic has announced their newest QuickScan product: the QD2131 1D linear imager. This is an entry level scanner with enhanced performance for general linear bar code scanning applications. When compared to the current QuickScan QD2130 imager, the new QD2131 imager brings to the table many enhancements in all aspects of scanning:

  • A longer reading range and depth of field (DOF)
  • A wider scan angle and field of view (FOV)
  • A brighter, crisper and longer scanning line
  • Snappier bar code reading
  • A more durable and sturdy look and feel

Additionally, the QuickScan QD2131 imager will have the updated QuickScan product family look and will be able to share the same stands and accessories as the QuickScan QD2400 imagers.

Features and Benefits

Datalogic ADC has been a leading supplier of General Purpose linear imagers for many years. The QD2130 imager has been in the marketplace for more than 7 years now and has experienced a growing demand year after year because of its’ features, performance, stability and reliability. The new QD2131 imager will replace the QD2130 imager with many enhanced features that current customers of the QD2130 imagers will find to be of great benefit, including the same pricing structure.

The scanning performance has been improved with an extended depth-of-field and a wider scanning angle, which means a longer scanning line. These improvements enable customers to use the reader at a farther distance as well as at a closer distance when reading long bar codes. This may be very common in some applications such as Utility Bill applications where linear bar codes tend to be longer. The enlarged scanning zone will cover most of the scanning requirements for General Purpose applications.
