White Paper: Mobile Coupon Return on Investment

Posted September 17, 2015

InVenue-Mobile_mobile-couponMobile coupon popularity is growing rapidly in the retail sector. One analyst firm, solely focused on mobile, predicts that mobile coupons redeemed will almost double between 2014 and 2019 to more than 31 billion.

Initially, the move to incorporate mobile coupons into the mix of discounts available to consumers was driven by retailers wanting to provide a unique and improved consumer experience. In addition, a handful of retailers were looking for a solution that would limit their coupon liability exposure through the use of one-time-use mobile coupons. Today, a majority of retailers are interested in the ROI of implementing a mobile coupon solution as mobile coupon use is becoming increasingly popular with consumers. This is also driving the adoption of area-imaging (2D) scanners capable of reading QR codes and other coupons directly off the screen of customers’ mobile devices.

Adoption of Android in Enterprise Mobile Computing

Posted July 23, 2015

android-malware-trojan-halts-enterprise-adoptionShould your business commit to using or migrating to the Android operating system? Before we answer that we should caveat by stating that no two IT departments are exactly the same. While Android currently holds a small market share of the rugged platform, its flexibility and customizability make it a leading candidate to take over for Microsoft, which has historically dominated the enterprise space. Microsoft’s software constrainment after each release has pushed the large device manufacturers like Zebra (formerly Motorola) and Honeywell to start investing heavily into the Android operating system for their mobile computers. The rest of the manufacturers have started to follow suit. Furthermore, despite the large market share of iOS in consumer devices, Apple is currently the least suited for the enterprise mobility space due to its lack of customization and restricted API access. See below for a chart that depicts the biggest benefits of Android in enterprise mobility:

Easily Access 2D Imaging with the Affordable Honeywell 1452g

Posted June 10, 2015

Specifically driven by the use of mobile devices, 2D barcodes have emerged from the realm of high cost, speciality applications to everyday uses like retail couponing, event ticketing, and advertising. Historically, the choice between a traditional 1D laser scanner or 2D imager was primarily driven by the large cost and performance difference. Jump to today and 2D imagers have made drastic technological improvements which have brought down cost and improved overall performance beyond laser scanners on all types of barcodes.

For many businesses the decision to go with a full 2D imager is still based around cost despite the improvements and added capabilities they can provide. This is where the new Honeywell Voyager 1452g is the perfect solution for any business that may be on the fence about 2D imaging.  All of the units are technically imagers but some are available with a 1D barcode only  scanning option at a significant lower cost. These units can later be upgraded (firmware update) to enable full 2D capabilities when needed.

This flexibility makes the Voyager 1452g an exceptional value for businesses that require the versatility of area-imaging technology today or may need it in the future.
