Tech Tips: Sensor Error Fix for Sato CLe Series Printers
Sensor Error – Common Causes/Solutions for the Sato CL408e and CL412e
Cause: Incorrect sensor type selected on the printer and/or in the software/driver settings.
Solution: Select the appropriate sensor type using DSW2-2 on the printer.
Cause: Dirty or obstructed sensor and/or media loaded improperly.
Solution: Make sure sensor is free from obstructions and blow out with compressed air, then refer to Label Routing diagrams on the printer to properly load media.

SATO announced today their revolutionary, new CL4NX series of industrial thermal barcode printers, capitalizing on their 33 years of innovation and expertise as the pioneer in thermal barcode printing since 1981.
The CL4NX is SATO’s first truly universal printer engineered for the ultimate operator experience, and is skillfully crafted to support new and legacy printing applications across a wide array of verticals that would require a durable and dependable printer for years to come.
SATO Awarded for 7th Consecutive Year at World Label Contest
Sato has been awarded two first prize awards in addition to the jury’s special award across three separate categories at the 25th World Label Contest. This is the seventh consecutive year Sato Printing has received awards.
In September 2013, the entries, organized by printing method into a total of 22 categories, were evaluated in the areas of design and printing capability by the contest organizing committee. Sato Printing won two awards in the letterpress category, where it received particular praise for its technical capabilities, and one award in the “Coupons/Others – All Printing Methods†category. In addition, the prize-winning label entered in this category is the first label the company has exhibited that was produced using digital printing. Sato received the award in this category partly due to the creativity it showed in using the features of digital printing, such as printing to the back adhesive side of the label, and including one design per layer in the two layers of the front side of the label.
Linux and Mac OS X Drivers Now Available for Sato Printers
Start using Sato printers in any software environment with the first ever Linux and OS X compatible drivers.
Extending the compatibility to include additional operating systems gives users greater flexibility when choosing the products from which they drive SATO printers.
Linux and OS X users can now integrate thermal printing seamlessly into their computing system for simple and convenient support of SOHO (small office home office) and enterprise based printing needs. These SATO drives are currently available for the CL4e/CL6e, CG2/CG4 and M84Pro series printer models.
Sato’s 802.11g Wireless Interface Update
SATO continues to update the 802.11g wireless interface to support the latest WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2) standards. This enhancement is available for both existing and new 802.11g WLAN plug-in interface option for SATO “e” series tabletop and print engine models, as well as the SATO CT4i and MBi series WLAN printer models.
SATO’s 802.11g WLAN interface provides enhanced security for those who need to ensure their wireless infrastructure and security protocols are able to integrate seamlessly with SATO printers. The SATO 802.11g WLAN option enables SATO printers to support the same speed and security that companies invested in when selecting 802.11g equipment for their networks. Eurotuin Chooses Sato’s GL4e Printers For Shop Automation
